During the first week of September, AETC (Arctic Europe Tourism Cluster) hosted an exceptional Sales Workshop in Harstad, and we are pleased to share that the event exceeded all expectations.

A total of 91 suppliers from Northern Norway, Finnish, and Swedish Lapland presented a diverse range of tourism products, with a special focus on the beauty of autumn in Arctic Europe.
We were thrilled to welcome 75 buyers from 14 different countries (Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, UK, Italy, Spain, France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, US, Canada).
With a remarkable 1,609 productive meetings, tour operators left the event with a deep understanding of the potential of Arctic Europe as a destination. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are excited about the future collaborations this event will spark.
The event also received local media attention, making the front page of Harstad Tidende. In an interview, Janka Schelb, CEO of Norway Pro Travel a German tour operator, shared that it was one of the best workshops she has attended in the last 12 years—a testament to the high quality and impact of the event.

In addition to the workshop, five knowledge transition tours were arranged, giving 46 tour operators the chance to explore Arctic Europe’s autumn offerings firsthand.
Each tour was thoughtfully designed with a specific theme and content to help tour operators gain deeper knowledge of the area. Rather than simply visiting companies in Arctic Europe, we decided to provide a better understanding of local cultures, communities, and sustainable practices within the tourism and travel industry.
These tours are part of our goal to expand both the summer and winter seasons, working towards creating opportunities for year-round tourism in the region.
